The rich history of the iconic Baileys Harbor Range Lights is closely intertwined with that of the Sanctuary. This summer The Ridges has embarked on a project to restore the Upper Range Light and its two outbuildings, the Oil House and Privy.
Work is already underway with completion anticipated sometime in 2018. On June 9 at 7 PM, join Laura Davis of Isthmus Architects, Inc. and Ed Miller, Chair of the Range Light Committee for The Revival of the Upper Range Light. The presentation is part of the Lake Lessons series and will cover the recently developed Historic Structure Report, as well as the future direction of the restoration. Lake Lessons programs are held at The Ridges Nature Center, 8166 Hwy 57 in Baileys Harbor. Admission is free.
Looking for areas to see and photograph wildflowers and other hidden treasures of The Ridges? Grab your camera or camera phone, and take a relaxed Photo Op Hike on June 11 at 10:30 AM. Our naturalists will lead you to the best spots for beautiful blooms and other gems of nature. Meet at the Ridges Cabins, 8288 County Q in Baileys Harbor. Hike fees are $5/adult for Ridges members and $8/adult for the general public. Children and students under 18 hike free.
